Habitual Sinner:

  • * Justifies sin
  • * Comfortable in it
  • * No repentance
  • * No conviction
  • * Sin feels normal

2. Direction of Life

Stumbling Believer:

  • * Moving toward Jesus
  • * Growing week by week
  • * Desires righteousness

 

Habitual Sinner:

  • * Moving away from Jesus
  • * No spiritual growth
  • Desires the world

3. Response After Sinning

Stumbling Believer:

  • * Brokenhearted
  • * Confesses and returns to God
  • * Learns, grows, changes

 

Habitual Sinner:

  • * Repeats the same sin without grief
  • * Excuses or minimizes it
  • * Remains unchanged

4. Identity

Stumbling Believer:

  • * New creation (2 Cor 5:17)
  • * Child of God (Romans 8:16)
  • * Sin is the exception, not the pattern (1 John 3:9)

 

Habitual Sinner:

  • * Still under the power of sin (Romans 6:16)
  • * Has not truly known Christ (1 John 2:4)
  • * Sin is the lifestyle (John 8:34)

5. Evidence of Salvation

Stumbling Believer:

  • * Fruit: humility, repentance, obedience, transformation
  • * Increasing freedom in areas once bound
  • * Spiritual desires grow stronger

 

Habitual Sinner:

  • * No fruit
  • * Same sins year after year
  • * No desire to obey God
